Career Guidance

LiveCareer's test is a scientifically validated career interest test designed to help you make career decisions and to learn more about yourself. It was costly to develop and has been refined over many years. Until recently, it was only available for purchase through career counselors and psychologists. We are able to make it available to you, in part, through the support of our sponsors.

What makes us qualified to help you? We are career professionals with over 60 years of combined experience, and are founding members of the Association of Test Publishers. Unlike other online tests, the free test has been specifically developed to be taken online. So far over 1 million people have the test to successfully plan their future.

The LiveCareer Test, also known as the Career Directions Inventory, was created by Douglas N. Jackson, Ph.D., a world authority in human assessment. Over the course of his long and prolific career, he published over 200 journal articles and several dozen book chapters. He was the former chair of the American Psychological Association’s Committee on Psychological Tests and Assessments. He served as President of the Society for Multivariate Experimental Psychology and as President of the American Psychological Association’s Division of Measurement, Evaluation and Statistics.
